Creative PresentationsThis presentation for Bacardi was for Mardis Gras ideas or bar giveaways. The idea was to link Bacardi with Mardis Gras and come up with fun ideas to appeal to a younger (albeit legal!) crowd.
Advertising and Product DesignThis project for a large gasoline company was for a summer promotion last year. I designed the balls, the advertising, and the brochure. The style was meant to be simple and eye-catching, as the posters are viewed by drivers quickly driving past.
Packaging DesignThese chocolate box designs were used by our client (UBNA) for their Easter promotion in 2003. We also won the project for the following year based on the success of the product. This year's designs are shown on the bottom.
Communication and DesignThese images were for communication between the US office and the Hong Kong office to perfect a sample to show to the client (Diageo). They detail the mechanical side of product development and the ability to produce solutions to mechanical problems. The picture on the left is a mocked up image of the concept to communicate it to the client for further feedback for its development.
MotifI developed this image of the lavender stem as a motif for this lavender candle for Yves Rocher. I experimented with different designs, but this was the one that the client chose. The photo is of the final tin. Since then, we have incorporated this motif into other items for this client, including bags and packaging for their lavender range. Note: the PDF omits some detail, to reduce filesize.
PaintingI developed this series of paintings for Reader's Digest to be used as artwork for a collectible set of coasters. The theme was famous lighthouses, to be used as a continuity program (one coaster given for each book in the series).
Illustration (and conception) of new ideasThese images were used to present ideas to our client (L'Oreal) for possible future promotions for their kids' shampoo range. I used shapes from different bottles in the range to link the promotion more closely to the product - as well as the characteristic fish design. The photograph at the bottom is a picture of the flip flops samples that were made from my artwork. Note: the PDF omits some detail, to reduce filesize.
Textile DesignI designed this quilt for one of Bookspan's book clubs "Crossings". They wanted the bible verse "Love is patient" incorporated into a design, and they had a pink /purple colour scheme in mind. The photograph is of the final product. I have also included some other designs for a different bookclub.
Development of IdeasThese concepts have been presented to Allied Domecq and are all based on promotional ideas that could be packed with the product (Malibu) on shelf. For example, the flask would be large enough to fit the Malibu bottle inside, and would be clear so that the bottle is visible.
Concept DevelopmentAfter the success of the lighthouse coasters for Reader's Digest, we wanted to present a similar idea to Bookspan (another bookclub, owned by Bertelsmann). I used their logo and image of the detectives as the basis for the design. I expanded on the mystery theme with shady characters and backgrounds. The image on the right shows the coasters separated, and all together.
Innovative ConceptsFrom initial brainstorming of ideas for a brief from Bacardi, I developed this shot glass from the initial concept of the "shot delivery mechanism", to the final product with all the development stages in between. Overall (including a test order of 5k) the client ordered 155k units. I also metamorphised this into the basket ball version (Bacardi ordered 20k).
Mocked Up SamplesI created this label to be part of a presentation by our client (Tetley) to Walmart. Initially I developed some designs and working with the client, I narrowed it down to the final design. The mocked up tins are being used to sell the whole concept into Walmart - and may well be used in production if the idea is successful.
Branded PackagingI developed these ideas for a tea company who wanted to launch their new brand with a look that conveyed the rich flavour of the tea (French vanilla, cherry vanilla, hazelnut). I looked at a lot of chocolate boxes and fine food packaging to help me achieve this.
Mood BoardsThe creation of these mood boards for Clarins Fragrance Group was to promote our product (specifically a silver watch) over our competitors', and to show packaging ideas. These were used internally by the client.
Bag DesignThese show some of the bags that I have designed, and the way that they have subsequently been marketed. The Chrome bag was for Clarins Fragrance Group for an order worth over $600,000 last year. The tri-fold garment bags were together sold to Elizabeth Arden for over $800,000
